Greenbelt Campground offers a great location close to Washington D.C., providing a peaceful, forested setting with well-maintained sites and convenient access to amenities. Many visitors appreciate the clean campsites, hot water in showers, and helpful staff, making it a good choice for camping near the city. However, some guests noted that the bathroom facilities could use improvements in cleanliness and maintenance. Overall, it’s recommended for its affordability and accessibility to both urban and natural attractions.

We took our boyscout troops to Washington DC and stayed at Greenbelt campground. This was our second time staying at Greenbelt camp grounds. It is a great site for scouts to have space for tents. Picnic tables and fire rings are located at each site. It is great having bathrooms with a shower stall. There is also a sink to fill up water jugs. It is not far by car to the nearby metro station where you can pick up the metro into the DC area.

Traveling with a 23’ TT and we did NOT fit in site D128. Had to move to site 130. We walked around the campground with our dog and so many sites are severely unlevel. Bathrooms were sufficient, but very dirty and only 1 shower! At least we felt safe with regular rounds from the NPS police.

Really nice campground--it is very close to the Greenbelt Metro station so it's easy to get to all the DC spots but when you're in the park it doesn't feel like you're in the midst of a city. We stayed at D-114 and it was a really pretty site.
