Greenbelt Campground offers a great location close to Washington D.C., providing a peaceful, forested setting with well-maintained sites and convenient access to amenities. Many visitors appreciate the clean campsites, hot water in showers, and helpful staff, making it a good choice for camping near the city. However, some guests noted that the bathroom facilities could use improvements in cleanliness and maintenance. Overall, it’s recommended for its affordability and accessibility to both urban and natural attractions.

Wow the location is amazing! Within 15 minutes of the Greenbelt Metro Station, this is about the cheapest option possible to stay in the DC area.
I will say, though, the bathrooms are showing their age and weren’t very clean. Still there’s hot water, but where are the showers?

Friendly place for the family to stay. When we arrived, a neighbor cautioned us against another camper who had been causing mischief, but that other camper was soon out of the campground as had been previously arranged. The bath house was small, but clean and with warm water. The water pump was nearby, the sanitation room was handy. We stayed with our cousins on adjoining sites, and had no issue with using both spots as one large space. Located decently close to downtown D.C. activities. When we visit the area again, we'll definitely look into another stay at this campground.

We enjoyed our time at Greenbelt. The area was beautifully wooded, the campground was quiet, people were friendly. We felt secure, rangers came around and heavy police presence at the entrance help. We stayed several days to meet up with family. The bathrooms definitely need an update but the fixtures were clean & shower was hot & had good pressure. I actually bought the park a shower curtain as a gift because the one in there was tattered & pathetic. We will definitely come back.

Great safe and inexpensive place to stay while visiting DC. Close to the blue train station, so easy access to the major DC sites without taking a car.
