Easy to make reservations and a perfect place to stop overnight when traveling from DC to Gettysburg. Excellent trails with opportunities for all levels of hikers. Had a nice breakfast at Thurmont Kountry Kitchen.

Great facilities! Felt very private despite proximity to other campers. Just wish the firewood had been dry, but wonderful time nonetheless less. Very clean site.

Owens creek is one of the best tent site campgrounds out there. Always a good time. The new camp hosts stopped by to check in and were very friendly.

I had a great experience camping here. I loved how wooded the campground is and there is some privacy between the campsites. While it was August, the elevation combined with the tree cover meant that the afternoon heat was tolerable. I also really appreciated the free firewood which made cooking over the campfire that much more fun!

I was there during the week and the campground was very quiet and peaceful. There were not many bugs. Mainly moths at night. The bathrooms were clean. The women's shower curtain needed to be fixed/replaced, but they did have hot water and a functioning showerhead. The camp host and other campers were very friendly and made sure to check on us after they came back to camp the day we arrived. There were many birds! There was a nice, peaceful ambiance to the campground day and night. I would stay again :)

Great campground, primitive sites, perfect for tent camping, but also for small campers and van. So glad we came here.

Such a wonderful campsite. The tent pads were cushioned and well draining. Camp hosts were friendly and attentive. I appreciated the free chopped wood for fires.

I love this campground! Nice and friendly host, free firewood, clean toilets & shower, campground trail, and quiet - what more could one ask for! Lots more bugs in July than Sept, but bearable! The campsite is spacious, just the right amount of distance from the toilets & portable water - keep in mind the campsite does have some steps.
