Antietam Creek Campsite offers a clean and well-maintained environment with friendly hosts and stunning views of the Potomac River. Campsites are spacious and equipped with amenities like fire pits and picnic tables, making it a great spot for outdoor activities, including biking and hiking on the nearby trails. We stayed on New Year's Eve. There were only two other campsites that were occupied during our stay, and they were on the other side of the campground (we were 18, they were 1 and 2/3). It was incredibly peaceful and quiet.
This was a far cry from the times we've stayed during the summer, when all of the sites are overcrowded (often with Boy Scouts or large, obnoxious groups) and the adjacent groups are loud and carrying on deep into the night (despite "quiet time" starting at 10PM) and people routinely walk through others' sites with aplomb.

Great site. Came with the ground frozen and pitched 3 tents. Picnic table very useful for setting up to cook over fire. Small but steep drop from towpath to campsite, looks fairly easy to slip if muddy and carrying gear. Lots of flat ground to sleep on. Good latrines. Seem well maintained.
