Very convenient campsite, one of if not the closest site to the foot bridge that crosses onto the campground. Very flat, nice view of the water. A short walk to the bathroom, a slightly longer walk to the water pump, though. Nothing too intense, I comfortably recommend this site.

The campsite was great! We really loved the location and its proximity to Antietam National Battlefield. The bathrooms were also very clean, which was appreciated.
The only issue we experienced was the gnats, which seemed to come out as soon as the sun rose. Additionally, we had to park along the side of the road and walk across the bridge to reach our campsite. It was a bit of a distance, so wagons were extremely helpful for transporting supplies. Unfortunately, there were also a few cars driving by that did not follow the posted speed limit. But they were not campers. The other campers were respectful and quiet.

I had a miserable experience at Antietam Creek campground, but it wasn't because of the campground, but rather the weather. They can't help that, so I gave it 5-star. (This survey platform gets a one-star review bc it wouldn't let me just give a star rating without a narrative)

Campsites are clean with a fire ring and picnic table. You have to walk a few yards from where cars are parked to the campsites.

A real gem of a site. Accessibly primitive.
Sites 14 and 15 did not have much grass and were a little far from the bathrooms for those 60 and older.

Well maintained campsite with plenty of space for multiple tents, a nice firepit and a table in good condition. Cleanest pit toilet I've ever seen.
Little walkthroughs to get to the water but you can't actually see the river directly which was fine. The train is really not that loud so that was no issue either. Biggest tossup is your neighbors because the sites are all in a line and somewhat close together. Thankfully by the time it got dark people got quiete so sleep was no issue.
Plenty of shade so temperature was much lower than in the sun. Bugspray is a must.

From Hagerstown MD: Take MD-65 to Sharpsburg. Make a right on Main St. then left on Harpers Ferry Road for a few miles. Before you cross the Antietam Creek bridge, make a right on Canal Rd. Campsites are across the canal and towpath from Canal Rd....

From West Virginia: Take WV-480 through Shepherdstown across the Potomac River. Make the first right after the bridge on Canal Rd. Follow Canal Rd a few miles until you see the campsites on your right before Antietam Creek.
Antietam Creek Campsite is accessible via MD-65, which leads to Sharpsburg, and is approximately 10 miles from I-70.
