What Guests Are Saying
McCoy's Ferry Campground is praised for its beautiful riverfront location, well-maintained facilities, and peaceful atmosphere, making it ideal for camping, fishing, and biking along the C&O Canal towpath. Many visitors appreciate the cleanliness of the portajohns and the spaciousness of the campsites. However, some guests noted noise from passing trains and occasional issues with cleanliness upon arrival, but overall, it remains a favored spot for repeat campers.

This was a very good experience. The walking/ biking trails were beautiful. The river was very nice, however, the summertime activity in the river was a little too much so we didn't get much fishing done (speed boats, tubing, and such). I do wish that our selected spot (#9) had more shade during the 90-degree weekend. Some people may wish for a more natural atmosphere, due to the daily railroad activity. For us this was perfect and we had a great time.

The campground is easy to find . It's friendly and small with enough trees for shade or hammock.
Train track is alongside but train passes only about twice a day.

The people in site 3 were yelling obscenities at me I believe in an attempt for me to relocate my site. Since their was no one to report this offense I decided it was best to relocate to another site for the night. I believe these people should be excluded from being able to book a site in the future and/or be monitored.
