What Guests Are Saying
McCoy's Ferry Campground is praised for its beautiful riverfront location, well-maintained facilities, and peaceful atmosphere, making it ideal for camping, fishing, and biking along the C&O Canal towpath. Many visitors appreciate the cleanliness of the portajohns and the spaciousness of the campsites. However, some guests noted noise from passing trains and occasional issues with cleanliness upon arrival, but overall, it remains a favored spot for repeat campers.

Only ones there on a Saturday night in February. Port-a-potties super clean. Quiet and peaceful (though the occasional train across the river). We’ve been here in summer and winter and really enjoy it. Having the C&O right there is wonderful for a walk or run. It’s a beautiful stretch.

Beautiful location and very nice flat sites. clean portapotty. easy to park. river is right there. Be mindful of the tunnel height is a maximum of 10'3" with curved sides . our T@B400 trailer is 9' and it just fit through with inches to spare! Could hear the trains, didnt bother us in a trailer.

Port a pottys SPOTLESS and well maintained. Have noticed there is at least ONCE a Ranger patrol car going through the site. Excellent location for a variety of adventures.
