I had site 87 and it was on an incline and then the firepit was on another incline. Luckily my camper was small but this site is wouldn't be good for a large camper. It would of been better as just a tent site.
Also, there are no modern bathrooms or showers in the campsite and sites are pretty close. But that is to be expected at a popular campground. The location is so great though! You are close to everything!

This location is great and the entire camping group is close to the beach. If possible try to pickup local firewood prior to getting to the camping group, as the camp ground only has compressed firewood logs.

We've been coming to DH Day for 15 years and it's always a great location and base to explore. Quiet and right on the beach. Beautiful country!

If you want to wash the sand off your body, you'll need to go to the dump station and use the water hose there. There's no running water in the restrooms. They are pit toilets.
Location is great - a short walk to the beach.

The campground was clean and quiet. the Beach was awesome and the water seemed warmer this year. This is my favorite place to get away. D. H. Day is the place where I learned how to truly relax. for the past 12 years, it has become my refuge from the crazy world. Please do not change a thing. No "Upgrades" are necessary. It It Absolutely perfect the way it is.

The campground is a great place and the beach is a few steps away. Pretty nice and informative staff.

Between the amount of rules and regulations there are, being packed in like sardines so tight you can here your neighbor breathing and the fact that I paid more to park than to camp, I’d say our experience was pretty terrible. It was supposedly rated one of the best in Northern Michigan but it was by far one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had camping.

Very clean water, Dunes of various characteristics (steep one during Scenic Drive, hike-long one at the Dune Climb, short loops in the trail area), and good campsites are very attractive at Sleeping Bear National Dunes. So refreshing.

Poison Ivy. Poison Ivy is abundant at the campground and throughout the lakeshore. Tent pads and campsite driveways are kept clear of poison ivy. However there may be poison ivy lining the boundary of the campsite.

Beach Safety. The park has pebble beaches rather than pure sand. Water shoes are recommended. There are no lifeguards on duty at any of the park beaches--swim at your own risk.
