What Guests Are Saying

Flowing Well Campground offers a rustic camping experience with well-separated sites and clean, well-maintained vault toilets. It is pet and ATV friendly, with picnic tables and firepits available. While there is some road noise and bugs, the campground is generally enjoyable, though it's advisable to bring your own water due to issues with the water supply.

Great trails and a beautiful hike up one side of the river and then back (8 miles)
Bathrooms and showers were fabulous, new and clean.

We camped with tents for 3 days. We had 4 tents, we were 7 people, and we had plenty of space. The background noise of the river is nice but during the day you will hear the trucks passing through the nearby road. No showers and no lumber sold at the place, although you could self serve buy lumber 10 mins away by car going north on road NF-13. Mosquitoes were pretty bad in August.

No fault of the site or workers - but the WORST mosquitos I’ve ever experienced. Setting up our tents was horrific and we were eaten alive. Couldn’t bring ourselves to explore the area or even cook dinner on the fire because they were so bad!

Clean, quiet, small campground. Stream below had nice white noise all night. Mosquitoes were particularly numerous. Higher numbered sites have most exclusivity/privacy/set back from the road. Site 3 is directly next to the bathroom, and it was a small walk from the end of the camp loop. When I was there there were some US Forest Service rangers doing maintenance and surveying, so it is well maintained.

Get a reservation. Given the number of USFS camps near here, there were a lot of folk driving through to look for First-come sites as early as 3pm in peak season (end of July/early August)

  • Two pets per site
  • No switching sites upon arrival
  • Please Note: One RV with tow vehicle per single site or one vehicle per tent site. Most sites can accommodate 1 extra vehicle that is not included with the reservation fee. Extra vehicle will be charged a per night fee and collected at the campground.
  • Reserved Sites will be held until the day following your arrival date. Sites must be occupied by the checkout time of the second day to hold a reservation or the site will be forfeited and released to other guests.
  • Once your reservation start date has begun, neither the Recreation.gov Contact Center nor the campground manager will be able to modify your reservation.
  • Refunds: Refund requests made through www.recreation.gov will be charged a $10 processing fee. This fee is retained by the reservation service contractor along with the non-refundable reservation fee. All requests for the return of the non-refundable reservation fee and the cancellation fee will be declined by the campground concessionaire as they did not receive these fees (these are the fees retained by the reservation contractor, a different entity).
  • Don't move firewood: To limit the spread of invasive tree-killing pests, firewood from outside the area is not permitted. Some states have quarantines and may confiscate your firewood. Please help protect our forests from invasive species by obtaining your firewood at or near your camping destination and burning it on-site. Visit dontmovefirewood.org for more information.
