the campground host was not doing his or her job. They did not post my reservation on the post. So there was some confusion. They did not post it on my neighbors site who ended up leaving early, so I moved over there only to have folks come in with a reservation for that site. AGain no posting on the post. I would not have moved if I saw it was reserved. I had to move.
Also, the toliet paper was low and not keep up with demand. And there was no firewood for sale. Geez.
I have stayed many years here and this was really poor service.

We have visited this NF Campground several times now. Sites are well spaced out, some have paths to the water. Several hiking trails in the area, and accross the bay Gladstone and Escanomba. Nice place to relax too.

My favorite campground for many years..
Sites have a decent amount of privacy with most lots being wooded, except Twin Springs loop. Twin springs loop has a gorgeous view of Little Bay De Noc. There are a lot of trees that could be cleaned up to allow easier backing in of a camper to the sites. Bathrooms are brand new for 2024, they are outhouses. This is a non electric campground. The Oaks loop does not have easy access to the beach, there is a set of stairs that lead down a steep hill to a trail to get to it.

Fantastic campground! Very well maintained. Brand new pit toilets (summer 2024). Paved campground roads are great for biking with kids. Beautiful sandy beach is great for swimming. Definitely one of the nicest rustic campgrounds I've ever been to!

The remnants of one of the vault toilets were blocking our site when we arrived. We sought out the host (last site in Twin Springs loop) and he kindly pointed us to the site he had reserved for us instead. New toilets are very nice.
In the past we have camped here over Memorial Day weekend but this year was one week later. There have never been as many mosquitoes as there were this year. Hopefully they've settled down since. Not much for black flies while we were there so that helped.
Stonington Point lighthouse is nice to visit and was a welcome break from the bugs this year.
