What Guests Are Saying

Munising Tourist Park Campground offers a beautiful location on Lake Superior, featuring clean and well-maintained facilities, including bathrooms that are regularly serviced. Many guests appreciate the stunning sunset views and access to a small beach, with opportunities for hiking and kayaking nearby. While some maintenance issues were noted, such as rough roads and limited shower facilities, the overall experience is enhanced by the kindness of the staff and the peaceful, semi-secluded camping spaces.

Stayed right before the start of the season. Beautiful beach and sunset. They had sprayed the gravel with water multiple times a day to keep down the dust. It’s windy! Bathrooms were good, but very cold on because we stayed in May so everywhere was. We weren’t on the water, but being as early as we were we could still see the water and enjoy the sunsets. Better to buy a square of wood, it’s a better deal and quite dry so it burns well. Loved the grates in the fire pits for grilling.

Descent little campground, but could use some maintenance. Sites are fairly level. Need to run additional water lines so really long/ multiple hoses aren't needed to hookup. Biggest downfall was only 2 men's and 2 women's showers available. No hot water in other bathhouse. Could use gravel on the roads.

Located Beautifully on the lake, with access to a small beach. The camping spaces are quiet and possible to slightly “seclude” yourself from others. The bathrooms are clean, and regularly cleaned throughout the day. My Jeep Wrangler overheated on our 3rd day in Munising. Pat was beyond generous and let me use his truck to go into town, while mine was at the local shop. And even offered me a ride to the shop after my vehicle was repaired. I’ve never met such kind and generous people. If your unlucky enough to find yourself in a similar situation, know your lucky enough to be at Munising Tourist Park Campground.

Our campsite was waterfront down to the left where the tent area is. We had our own little path to the beach. It was beautiful. Gorgeous sunset view. Fairly nearby the bathhouse & dumpster (but not close enough to be stinky). Our purpose for staying here was to do the kayak tour of Pictured Rocks as well as some hiking. We were there 2nd week of June 2026. It was still pretty chilly & the mosquitoes were pretty bad..so be plan accordingly. The driveway coming off the main road was somewhat rough & could have used some additional gravel (they had to pump off/out the water) during our stay - but, at least they could do so.
I would recommend the campground & would choose to stay here again.

Very nice campground right on Lake Superior. Love that the City owns this. Very clean bath house/showers and whole place is very well maintained.
