Great site. Very secluded. Big enough for several tents. One of my new favorites.

This is not a review of the campsite but of all the ticks we got there. Was only there about 30 minutes getting my camp set up and my dog was just walking around. When he came back near me, I saw over 20 ticks on him crawling around. It looked like he rolled in sprinkles, but instead ticks. This was mid April. The campsite was gorgeous, but couldn’t stay the night.

At our 2nd day reserved camp site, we found a large group already occupying the site.
It took hours for them to leave, after numerous calls to park office.

The site we are is unsafe, the erosion on the hill caused a number of people to fall throughout the trip. I would not recommend putting this up until the slope is either smooth out or stairs are put in.

unlike some of the au sable sites this is not too far above the water and has nice stairs down to the water. I love the remoteness of all the au sable sites and this one was no different. Of course, it is rustic so no services, water or electricity so plan accordingly.

Amazing scenery. Absolutely quiet and peaceful. About a 2-5 minute walk to site. Bring dolly or wagon for gear to save multiple trips. 100 percent would come back again

Positives: 1) Beautiful scenic campground. 2) About as secluded and rustic as it gets. 3) Outhouses were well maintained. Negatives: 1) The gravel roads and roads that lead into the camp sites are full of unavoidable massive potholes that will toss every item in your RV. Road upgrades are recommended. 2) Almost every time we camp here lately, there is someone inconsiderate idiot running a generator all night. No exception this time. Site 54d ran their jackhammer generator all night the 3 nights we were there. We camp to enjoy nature...hearing the coyotes and owls at night and not to hear a rediculously loud motor running all night. Need to implement, emphasize, and enforce rules about generator hours. They disturb the peace! 3) The wife and I had dogs run up on us multiple times this trip. Rules regarding dogs (leashing them) need to be emphasized and enforced as well. If the rule breakers are forced to pack up and leave (which is a lot of work) and don't get reimbursed their camping fees, they will learn to follow the rules. This will make camping more comfortable for all of the guests who do follow the rules. Thank you for the opportunity to input.
