We had a great experience when we stopped into Lumberman's monument for river information. We were disappointed because we would have booked a 2nd site but they were all booked even thought no one was on the 2 sites next to and across from us the entire time we were there.

This site was incredible! Very private, spacious, and peaceful. The site is very high up from the river which was very cool. Would camp here again!!

Could not locate site from the river, it was not marked - likely due to the flooding this Spring!

We love this island campsite. It was our family's 3rd year making it to this spot and my kids are ready to go back next year. There is a great spot for swimming while I am cooking and the fishing is good too.

First time here in about 10 or so years. There was no camp host and the rules were not followed by many. Our neighbors had two trailers, a large tent, four cars and a boat trailer in their site. There were other sites at Sawmill that had more equipment than allowed. I guess folks know there is no enforcement and they can do what they wish. Overall our site was nice and I enjoyed relaxing around the campsite. The road was in bad shape and was being graded when we left so maybe it was improved but with all of the rain we had the day before made it seem quite soupy when we pulled out. We hit Old Orchard Campground for showers buy 50 cent token in office. Bathhouses to the west of the office had no water control but plenty of water flow and hot water. The bathhouse at the east end had water you could control the temp. We dumped our tanks there too for $10. Filled portable water tanks at the Lumbermen's Monument.
Verizon worked at times and at other times not at all. One night I could check radar when we had storms rolling through and two other nights nothing worked. Texting was pretty dependable.

Our group of 8 Kayaked in. There was plenty of space for all of us and some nice camp spots, with views of the river. It only has a fire ring, nice tree cover, and a little bit of an incline to get up to the site but well worth it. Highly recommend
