What Guests Are Saying
Ausable River Camping offers a beautiful and serene environment, with spacious, well-maintained sites and picturesque views of the river. Campers appreciate the remote, rustic charm and the opportunities for fishing and hiking. While there are some concerns regarding ticks, road conditions, noise from generators, and occasional issues with campsite bookings, many visitors still express a strong desire to return for another experience in nature.

Our location was too public. We prefer a more rustic area with less people. The site we were at C86 was loud. We kept hearing people yelling and cars honking. Boats drove past our site constantly.

The quiet setting is a chance to relax and take in nature. Beautiful sites. We have camped here for years.

I'm afraid to say how good our annual fishing trip is here, I would hate not getting our campsite due to overcrowding. Love this place and hope it stays our tradition.

One of my favorite sites, very easy walk-to (about 4 minutes). Set on top of the bank with easy river access and a fence for lanterns and drying out towels. The second post from the trail to the water gives you enough service to text and load gps but no phone calls with Verizon. Very cool spot, 64 is next!

Beautiful spot right in the cove, right on the river, right in front of the sunset. Winds kick up a bit being so close to the river but the site is massive and there’s plenty of spots to get out of the wind.

Beautiful site to be away from the wind of the river. Very hard to access the river as you have to travel down a steep hill and back up (still worth the walk and the fishing).

Not detailed directions and the sight did not link with what the webpage said. Then we get lost but they close at 5pm. Really? So middle of no where rustic camping and no way to contact office. And than to top it off I lost out 30$ for my sight because they couldn't refund me from their own system? So I have to contact a website that takes 40 mins to wait on hold. So all in all it is not worth it to wait hours on hold for 20$ but that money was just taken and goes in their pocket and I didn't even get to enjoy camping. Instead got lost and had to find a different camp site. My Friday was ruined I had to pay for another campsite so I spent 70$ for 2 nights of camping because you guys just took 30$ and have no proper directions to the site. WILL NEVER GO THROUGH THIS PLACE EVER AGAIN!!!!
