What Guests Are Saying
Bay View Campground offers a beautiful and rustic camping experience along Lake Superior, featuring large, private sites under mature trees and clean facilities. Many guests appreciate the excellent cleanliness maintained by the camp hosts and the stunning beach access. However, some concerns were noted regarding the presence of generators, the need for a camp host for better quiet time enforcement, and issues with trash management. Overall, the campground remains a favored destination for its natural beauty and welcoming atmosphere.

The scenery was wonderful. The campsite was large. There is a fair amount of space between sites, giving campers some privacy. The bathrooms were clean.

Bay View has been our family's summer camping destination for years. This year we finally made it up for the color change in October, and we weren't disappointed.
It's right on Whitefish Bay, the facilities are always well maintained, and it's proximity to landmarks between the Mackinaw Bridge, Lake Superior and beyond make it an easy choice!

Bay View is such a wonderful place to spend a few days on the shores of Lake Superior! Remote north woods environment but close enough to convenience-store civilization to re-stock. The campsites were all clean, beautifully situated with many right on the beach but up high enough to be somewhat protected from the "gales of November." Met some friendly folks full of local intel and the campground manager was helpful and affable. Highly recommended and I will be going back someday!

Bay view is a small, pleasant, primitive campground on the shore of Whitefish Bay. It is conducive to tent and smaller rv style equipment. The campground is very well maintained and monitored by its camp hosts and is within reasonable driving distance of numerous attractions in the Eastern Upper Peninsula including the Soo Locks, Tahquamenon Falls, and Whitefish Point. The beach is reasonably accessible for the fit, though recent high water levels and associated storm erosion has created some problems in that regard. As with anywhere in the Upper Peninsula, insects, biting and otherwise, are one’s constant companions during warmer months and should always be expected. Lake Superior is a powerful and volatile entity. Weather systems often bring abrupt, harsh changes within minutes. One should always bear this in mind when camping on its shores. We are accustomed to its vagaries and consider them a welcome challenge. Some probably would not.

I need to go back here when I can stay longer! I was only there one night but it was one of the best campsites on our road trip. The campsite was enormous. Perfectly clean, sandy. There was a short path from our campsite to the beach. There was a self serve firewood shed, which was great for us as we arrived near sunset. There was a cupboard with some games and sand toys for the kids to borrow. I was amazed at how great this place was. We really didn't want to leave.

We have been camping here for about 50 years and the camp grounds are excellent. Quiet, clean and a very friendly atmosphere. The camp hosts are the best ever. There is no better place to camp than on the Lake Superior shoreline.
