Soldier Lake offers a beautiful and quiet camping experience with spacious, clean sites and a helpful camp host. The location is convenient for outdoor activities and has a lovely lake for swimming. While there were some issues with water quality and reservations, overall, visitors appreciate the campground's rustic charm and plan to return.

My wife and I recently stayed here over the 4th of July. We had a fantastic time up here, the campground is awesome. Great location, right on the water. The sites are nice and spacious, the facilities are as expected with a rustic campground. Overall we had a great time, we will stay at Soldier Lake again!

This a great spot! It was so quiet. The campground clean. The camp site was very spacious. Will camp here again.

The camp site was not cleaned, racked or mowed. The camp host was away attending a family event, but upon his return, I only observed him leaving his site once, he returned in 10 minutes. NOT IMPRESSED! I'm camping there again later this month, I hope it's better.

We really enjoyed our stay. Road was nice for bike riding and trails nearby for hiking and off-roading. Access off 28 is easy, but comes with some road noise. Variety of site size and proximity to the lake. Water and outhouses we clean and close to sites. Generators are used in the campground, so you may hear those. Overall would recommend for a drive up campsite.

Do not listen to GPS, when you see the “Soldier Lake Recreation Area” sign, turn right/left and follow the paved road. If you are on a dirt road you are in the wrong spot….. trust me:)

the site we reserved had somebody elses rv parked in it there was nobody around our name was on the post we had to look for another site i want my reservation fee back

From Sault Ste. Marie, take I-75 approximately 8 miles south to Exit 386. Turn right onto M-28 and travel 21.5 miles west to Forest Road 3138. Turn left and continue less than a mile to the campground.
