The campground was well kept and very peaceful. Some neighbors ran a generator most of the day to charge batteries to run a trolling motor on their boat. Apparently no one notified them that the lake is a “no propeller” lake.

Soldier Lake has really gone downhill since it has changed vendors. No firewood onsite. Sites are not mowed or raked. Toilets are disgusting. Noise is not enforced whatsoever. If this is what privatized management of public lands gets us, we're getting ripped off.

Perfect base camp for adventures exploring the Delirium Wilderness, the town of Paradise, Tahquamenon falls and all other Eastern UP sites.

Arrived yesterday at Site 17 and it was filthy - - toilet paper soaked in feces, used plastic utensils, candy wrappers and cans strewn everywhere. Picnic table covered with colorful but unknown goo. No sign of hosts until near dark. I am a former camp host and would be ashamed to allow this, Lots of screaming kids bicycling well past quiet hour. This campground is not the quiet, pretty, undiscovered place it once was.

Loved this campground, the sites are so spacious for a family camping trip and having the lake to play in is so much fun. The toilets were not smelly but could have been cleaned a little more.

One of the very best campsites we have ever stayed at the sites are huge and you are well isolated from your neighbors.
