A fun spot for a rustic glamping getaway. Close to tons of state parks and hiking trails, we had a blast at NSCC. It was nice to come back from a day of hiking and exploring and not have to set up a tent! The king bed was warm and comfy - room for two adults and a large dog!
As advertised, be prepared for an uphill dirt trail leading to each campsite and for a bit of a walk to the bathroom & showers and to fill up your water jugs. No big deal, but good to be aware of. 😊
Additional water spigots around camp would be nice, as would a communal outdoor dish washing station with running water. We had high hopes for the saunas, but never were able to get them as hot as we would have liked due to the sauna doors not firmly sealing/closing. Still fun to try!
Overall, we had a lovely time. It was a great home base for North Shore adventures and it was nice to camp without having to do the campsite set up work.

Friendly staff, and a nice location near a lot of parks to go visit during the day. Quiet, and tents are nicely spaced to have some privacy from other campers. Campsite was nice and spacious, inside and out. Very comfortable bed and plenty of blankets for the cooler nights. Our Jackery lost most of its charge after the first night with the heater running so we had to swap it out. Seems like that's something that staff could do as a default, as I assume most people had to swap theirs out that day. Quality of life improvements that I think could be made, besides this, would be more water fill-up locations than the base camp, quality control on the extra campware (my French press came without all its pieces, no fuel for stove at campsite), and more frequent bathroom cleaning. All this being said, there didn't seem to be enough hands for the amount of work already being done on a daily basis, so I imagine these sorts of improvements are more back burner items than anything. Definitely a step above camping, but I'm not sure if I'd call it glamping. For the cost, it wasn't as convenient as I expected it to be, we had to walk back and forth from base camp a lot to get water, charged battery, stove fuel etc. Still, my partner and I had a great time and it's definitely in a great spot to call home base while exploring the North Shore.

Glamping at its finest. Lights lead you to your tent cabin..so cute along the forest path. The tent is awesome, king bed very comfy with nice sheets. Table and cards inside, fire pit and Bear box outside with a jacket to charge your devices. The supply you with 3 electronic lanterns, coffee (must heat water over the fire) and 4 bottles of water. Group campfire, saunas and lawn games in the common area next to the office. Best thing is you also get access to the pool and hot tub across the street at the lodge. Only suggestions I would make: our trash can at our site was full and our tote had dirty dishes in it. Hopefully that was a one time oversight.

If you're looking for a upgraded camping experience in the North Shore area, then look no further than North Shore Camping Co. They thought of everything! From our introduction, Colleen and Don were fantastic. They welcomed us right on in- felt like a family friend opening their home for us to use. They supplied us with all the extras (dishes, logs for the fire, cookware, bathroom facilities with all the necessities)! They even threw in some things for the kids. I was blown away with the value. The nightly rate and fees are worth it along with the outstanding customer service. I highly recommend.
We even had access to the Cove across the street for dining, sauna, and indoor pool use. This was a nice surprise for us. The kids really wanted to swim in the pool. Plus, they had all the fixing for s'mores!
NSCC was very conveniently located along the highway which gave us easy access to bike trails to Split Rock Lighthouse and Goosenberry Falls. I recommend the e-bikes for a pleasant ride. Of note, if you have anyone in your party under 16 years of age, they can only ride the mannual bikes which are not serviced well. Our 12 year old struggled on the old bike and it made the trip arduous. We had to slow down and could not reach our destination. We had to cut our bike trip short and turn back. I would recommend e-bikes for guests younger than 16. This area is too beautiful not to enjoy a bike ride with the family.
All in all we had a great time!

Overall we did enjoy our stay at North Shore Camping Co! They were very accommodating when our heater did not work and they offered us a discounted rate plus store credit to use on anything in their camp store! Luckily it was still warm enough at night that the heater wasn’t fully needed as we had plenty of blankets supplied as well. The only downside was our site itself. We were given site #1 which had zero privacy. We took a walk around the other sites and they all had a private walkway and plenty of trees or other plants obstructing the view of their fire pit/outdoor area and front door, but our site was the first on the path and everyone who walked by could see our entire site and see us when we were outside at anytime. The front door couldn’t be seen from the side where the fire pit was, but if the lights were on inside and someone was coming up the path they could see right inside as there was not any covering for the front door glass panels. We were also traveling with a dog so the privacy the other sites had would have been so much nicer. Additionally, the site was very slanted, the fire pit cooking grate didn’t stay level and we had to rig it to cook over, the picnic table wobbled, and the chairs were placed facing the path which made for a few awkward interactions as people walked by. Had we been given any other site, I think this would be a five star review, but we didn’t get to enjoy it as much with the lack of privacy and uncomfortable outdoor area. As for inside the tent, things were great! The bed was comfy and we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay, the staff was also very friendly and helpful and the location was amazing for a stay along the north shore! We would definitely consider staying again, but we just would be sure to request any site other than #1.
