Nice place. The visitor center is very fancy and the bathrooms are clean. The hiking trail was fine but there were too many bugs. This giant creepy huge wasp looking bug kept following and circling me and it buzzed very loudly. There were also a lot of spiders on the trails so be careful. They are very scary. Always be aware of your surroundings.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Absolute North Shore Gem!
Tettegouche State Park completely blew me away! The hiking trails are phenomenally well-maintained, clear, and perfectly marked, making it an absolute joy to explore the rugged terrain. The crown jewel of the trek is definitely the High Falls. Standing beside that massive, roaring waterfall offers jaw-dropping, unforgettable views that are worth every single step.
Before hitting the paths, the visitor center is a must-stop. It is an awesome, modern facility packed with great exhibits and a fantastic little cafe inside that serves up perfect treats for pre-hike fuel or post-hike rewards.
What really sets this park apart, though, is the staff friendliness. Every park ranger and worker we encountered was incredibly welcoming, helpful, and eager to share local insights about the best scenic overlooks.
Whether you are looking for a serious day hike or just a beautiful pitstop on a North Shore road trip, Tettegouche delivers on every level. Pristine nature, excellent amenities, and top-tier hospitality. We will absolutely be back!

It's a beautiful state park right on the north shore. I only had half a day to explore and it still had alot of snow and ice. But still had great views and wasn't crowded.

Roll the dice

if you’re going to try, go all the
way.
otherwise, don’t even start.

if you’re going to try, go all the
way. this could mean losing girlfriends,
wives, relatives, jobs and
maybe your mind.

go all the way.
it could mean not eating for 3 or
4 days.
it could mean freezing on a
park bench.
it could mean jail,
it could mean derision,
mockery,
isolation.
isolation is the gift,
all the others are a test of your
endurance, of
how much you really want to
do it.
and you’ll do it
despite rejection and the
worst odds
and it will be better than
anything else
you can imagine.

if you’re going to try,
go all the way.
there is no other feeling like
that.
you will be alone with the
gods
and the nights will flame with
fire.

do it, do it, do it.
do it.

all the way
all the way.
you will ride life straight to
perfect laughter,
it’s the only good fight
there is.

One of the prettiest state parks in Minnesota. If you ever visit from out of state its worth the drive and visit. Hikes and trails for every skill level with beautiful views of the north shore and glacier region.
