This is a beautiful campground on a lovely, quiet lake. Our campsite had steps going right down to the lake so you could swim or fish right from the shore. The bottom is sandy gravel going out the first 6 ft, then you probably want to swim because it gets muddy. There was no camp host for some reason and no online map of the campground. There was no toilet paper in the outhouses for the first 24 hours we were there (Sunday) and no hand sanitizer at all. It seems that Minnesota State Parks may be better looked after but not sure if budget cuts are to blame. I hope they don't let this beautiful place go downhill. It's worth protecting

The lakeside campsites are great! Bring a watercraft with and enjoy time on the lake. For alternate activities, George H. Crosby Manitou State Park is only about 5 mi away and offers many hiking opportunities including views of the Manitou Cascades. All in all, I had a wonderful visit!
