East Bearskin is consistently my favorite campground along the Gunflint trail. It is a perfect BWCA entry point and nearby Bearskin lodge is a full outfitters and also sells basic camping amenities like firewood, ice, snacks, and drinks. Very well maintained and still feels secluded and peaceful.

Nice camp ground and bathroom facilities. Easy parking of boats near campsite and great boat drop off point.

Cabin largely well kept, bathrooms cleaned regularly. Porch screen did have several large gaps that should be fixed - esp in eaves where porch meets cabin roof.

Campsite 3 is beautifully set up on the water. Our only issue was the loud drunks late into the night two campsites away from use.

Bearskin Campground is heaven on earth. I highly recommend some type of screened tent though for cooking, as the mosquitos can be pretty thick. But we spend so much time on the lake and had no problems out there. Caught some delicious walleye, northern and panfish.

This campground is located on East Bearskin Lake; however, you’d never know it as none of the campsites are on or near the lake. Also; the campground is managed by the local resort: Bearskin Lodge. The sites were poorly cared for, unkept and overgrown. Kind of a Bummer.

We’ve stayed at East Bearskin 5 times in the cabins and have loved every minute of it. It’s quiet, clean, and off the grid. Lots of wildlife to see and activities to do. We come back every year!
