What Guests Are Saying
Flour Lake Campground is highly praised for its beautiful, quiet setting, with well-maintained private campsites and direct access to the lake, making it ideal for kayaking and fishing. Many campers appreciate the clean facilities and excellent hiking opportunities, particularly the nearby Honeymoon Bluff. However, some concerns were raised about high fees for additional vehicles and occasional issues with restroom cleanliness, as well as reports of disruptive behavior from other campers.

We love site 19 because we bring kayaks and this site has the only direct access to the water. Clearly, many others also love it; it is getting well-worn. Personally, we do not need such a long table that is very hard to move!
I HATE the policy that a second car has to pay such high fees when:
1. A person with a detachable camper only has to pay for one vehicle. They cause more damage to a site getting in and out than two cars do! (This is not relevant to this site, though.)
2. This site has more than enough space for 2 cars without causing any problems for vehicles driving through.

We have been coming to this campground for 6 years in a row over Labor Day weekend and couldn't say enough good things about it. It is a very quite, has many private campsites, and sits on a beautiful lake that connects you into the Boundary Waters. If you make sure to take the quick 10 minute (maximum) hike up to Honeymoon lookout.

Very nice campground! Well maintained and the bathrooms were clean and stocked. Beautiful lake, and a nice access point right in the campground. Nice hiking around the lake on a groomed trail created for winter time skiing.

Spent three nights at the Flour Lake Campground for my annual solo retreat. Only handful of other sites were occupied, so the campground was quiet. I alternate between this campground and East Bearskin Lake Campground, both of which are excellent choices. Insider tip: I have found that the bundled wood at Clearwater Resort is a dollar cheaper and more generous than the bundles at Golden Eagle Lodge. Of course, Golden Eagle is closer, but if you are venturing down the road anyway . . . . Both resorts have friendly and helpful staff.

Been camping here for an August fishing trip for several years. It's a great location about halfway up the Gunflint. The lake is beautiful and big enough to stay interesting for several days of fishing. The resort just down the road sells ice, firewood, and has showers if you really need one. Very quiet at night. The fishing is decent, not a lot of large fish anymore but big enough to bring some back to eat. The biffies are just okay,

Camp sites were stacked on each other. My “neighbors” were so close I learned how to properly “stimulate” an elephant and artificially impregnate them.
I also learned why all their phone contacts are listed in the manner they were.
