Camp sites were well maintained. We had to cut our stay short due to a family medication situation unfortunately. The campground host was so agreeable and helpful. We'll be back next year and hope for the good fishing we have enjoyed on Crescent Lake for so many years :)

Crescent lake has water, primitive pit toilets, and wild land. What more does anyone need? The walk-in-camps are the best part - all right on the water, yet isolated from one another.

I have been camping at Crescent Lake for many years and Site 26 most of those years. Unfortunately, there is no longer a level area on this site because of erosion and rain runoff. The majority of the ground has large rocks protruding and the roots of the trees near the lake are exposed. It is a treacherous trip to get down to the lake; especially if it has been raining. When it does rain, there is a stream running down the center of the site to the lake. I believe the site needs to have timbers installed to hold the soil from running off any more, and a few inches of soil replaced so there is once again level surfaces at this site.

Crescent Lake campground is very well laid out. The camp sites are roomy with plenty of space between sites.

Lucked out and had a lakeside spot for the night which made it a wonderful stay. Was not clear when I registered that a "tent site" meant a walk-in site for the night.

Clean, well maintained facilities and friendly host Jack. Kayaking on the lake with loons was a highlight.

The host jack is a great people person and has a new sidekick (Reggie) a black lab pup, who he says is training to be the new host :) clean campsites and restrooms and a beautiful lake with plenty of fish and water fowl. Loved hearing the loons sing!

This is a beautiful and quiet campground next to a beautiful lake. Our site #12, had a path down to the lake (steep but doable)

Had site 23. No lake view but very private as no one is across from the site or close by. 6-7 empty sites each night for first come first serve even over 4th of July weekend.

After digging out the fire pit deep enough, I had a good time building fires to cook and keep warm. Parking was easy and the restroom was a short distance from the shore/campsite. Very greatful to have stayed at Cresent Lake.

Travel Highway 61 along Lake Superior's north shore to Tofte, Minnesota. In Tofte, turn north (away from Lake Superior) on Sawbill Trail (CCHS 2). Follow the Sawbill Trail for 16 miles to The Grade (Forest Road 170). Turn right onto the The Grade and proceed east for 7 miles. The campground is on your right and is marked by a large sign.

General
- Limit of two vehicles per campsite, not including trailers; $10 fee for second vehicle. Extra vehicle can be paid online in advance or in person onsite. If paid onsite, you won't be charged the $2 add-on fee; free public parking lot is also available onsite near the campground
- Dogs are allowed but must be leashed
- Fires in campfire pits only and must be completely extinguished; cutting of live vegetation is not allowed
- Be bear aware; keep all food out of site in approved containers or locked inside a hard-sided vehicle and remove all food from area after eating

- Don't move firewood: To limit the spread of invasive tree-killing pests, firewood from outside the area is not permitted. Some states have quarantines and may confiscate your firewood.
