Stayed one night and had Sawbill Canoe Outfitters shuttle our group of 6 to Kawishiwi Lake entry point. Took a week to paddle north and then back east to Sawbill on the Lady Chain.

We have been visiting Sawbill Lake Campground in Superior National Forest for more than 50 years. It's selling point: it never changes. Sawbill Lake sits on the edge of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area in northern Minnesota. The beauty of this virtually untouched area is unparalleled. It's the perfect place to hide away from the world for a time to simply enjoy the beauty of nature. The outfitters that manages the campground has been owned by the same family for three generations. The friendly, comprehensive service they provide is impeccable. This is simply our favorite place.
