What Guests Are Saying
Stony Point is praised for its beautiful setting, clean facilities, and friendly staff, making it a favored destination for campers. Many appreciate the well-maintained campsites and access to the lake, with several guests returning year after year. However, there are concerns about maintenance, particularly regarding overgrown grass and inadequate pest control, which detracts from the overall experience.

Last year there were several issues, the biggest one being the campground needs an overhaul with the power. All sites are 30AMP and only on 2 circuits. Last 4th of July the campground lost power over half a dozen times and many for most of the day. I was excited to see they postponed opening this year to fix some issues, but when I arrived this 4th of July, no work had even begun and found out there was no plan to fix the electrical. This year when I arrived I was stunned to see the campground covered in weeds. They decided to only cut the spot where the camper is and around the fire rings. Everywhere else is solid weeds and bugs everywhere. You used to be able to walk through the campground to get to the lake, but now it is impossible. It is sad to see a nice campground not being kept up.

I have been coming to Stony Point for as long as I've been alive & I was very disappointed this year. The grass was so tall, they have not been mowing. There is no path out to the point anymore. We were told that gas is too expensive & yet the guy on the mower drove around all afternoon and I never did see him mow anything. You would think they could at least make one pass onto the point.
The beach area was clean & mowed which was great. The Camp host was very friendly! Just needs to be better maintained.

Very nice campground. They are a little behind on yard maintenance due to the wet year and the bathrooms are out of service but we’ll definitely be back. The spots aren’t too crowded and the swimming area is excellent!

No bathrooms, no showers, and the Porta potties were disgusting. The campground is overgrown and stinks. I have never seen so many mosquitoes. They would swarm from the high grass in droves. Walking my dog was a nightmare. She looked like pigpen but the cloud surrounding her was comprised of biting flies and mosquitoes instead of dust. I had two more reservations here but I canceled and took the loss. This place is the armpit of Hades. This is the first awful experience I've ever had at a COE campground. I was miserable here.
