What Guests Are Saying

Stony Point is praised for its beautiful setting, clean facilities, and friendly staff, making it a favored destination for campers. Many appreciate the well-maintained campsites and access to the lake, with several guests returning year after year. However, there are concerns about maintenance, particularly regarding overgrown grass and inadequate pest control, which detracts from the overall experience.

My husband and I stayed at Stony Point for 5 days and 4 nights. The first 2 days my father joined us for some walleye fishing on Leech Lake. We had a successful time fishing. After my father left, my daughter and 2 granddaughters joined us for 2 days of beach time, swimming, campfires and s'mores. My granddaughters and I used the shower house twice and they were very clean. The mayflies hatched while we were there....so that was kind of a messy bummer.

Site was clean and even had a nice welcoming note with kindling for our fire. The view was fabulous!

We had an excellent stay. It would be helpful to have trash cans beside the aluminum recycle bins. The dumpsters have very heavy lids; it would be helpful if they were updated to something with plastic lids. There was same day service for an overflowing dump station.

I'm a huge tree hugger and this place give me the many choices to do this, my goodness the birds made beautiful music all day long. I can't wait to return for much needed relaxation from city life.

Very disappointed! The lawn was not mowed the entire time we were there from May 19th through June 1st which included the Memorial Day weekend. When you have grass that gets that long, then you worry about ticks, especially deer ticks! Also no wood was available for purchase for campfires and no campground host. Again, very disappointed.

The campsite was basically not well maintained. I understand times are different now, but there was alot of mowing and stump removal that could of been done. Also I would never pick a campsite by the dumpsters as they smelled so bad.
