plenty of walking trails and open spaces for our fur babies, most of the full hookup sites are spaced out but a lot of trees have old limbs that drop a lot of times

Nice campground if not raining. We got used to the barges and the planes from the base. The sites are spread apart enough for some privacy.

Spent two nights on site 100 and really enjoyed our stay. There were only a few other campers so we had our little end of the campground to ourselves. The sites are in great shape and the restrooms are very clean. We will definitely be back.

Decent park, nothing to write home about though. If it wasn't for some full-hookups, I don't think we would stop here. The Airforce Base was nice to stock up on at the commissary.

when it's wet and rainy, this place is kinda miserable. But it's close to Columbus Air Force base if needing.

Camp hosts Marty and Steve were outstanding. Condition of the park and surrounding areas were well kept. Site was well kept, hookups, including sewer, we're easily accessible. Showers and toilets were clean and in good working order. Playground equipment was well maintained, and trails were nice. We felt safe and welcome. Definitely will return to Dewayne Hayes.

We wanted a nice getaway on our way to be with family for Thanksgiving. What a gem!!! We only had one night so it made it easier to get a prime campsite on the waterway.
I called the office and a young man suggested which site to take from what was available. Not only was the site perfect, the entire campground was one of the best we’ve had. Plenty of space between campers, a nice mix of trees and walking paths, and wonderful waterway views. I enjoyed hearing the sound of the barges that night and then got to see one the next day.
My husband was familiar with the nearby charming town of West Point so we were able to take a late afternoon cruise of the beautiful old homes and then had a wonderful early dinner in town.
The grounds were tidy and both the staff and other campers were friendly.
Couldn’t ask for a better camping experience!
