What Guests Are Saying
Hernando Point Campground offers a charming escape with spacious, clean sites and beautiful views, especially along the river. Many guests appreciate the peaceful atmosphere, well-maintained facilities, and the friendly staff, making it a great spot for families and RV owners. While the lake is currently dry due to repairs, visitors still enjoy outdoor activities like walking and fishing in the pond, and they look forward to future improvements.

Nice campground and pretty easy to get to. This is pretty much a "self-service" campground. There is no office to register at, no Park Ranger on duty. We didn't really see camp hosts much, if at all. You have to find your site yourself and signage is minimal/non-existent.
Overall though, nice park (although the water is very low). It rained the entire time we were there. Our site was ok as we were slightly "up hill" but other sites were under water. Lots of trees so and our Starlink had a lot of obstructions.
Great for a short stay.

This site is not on the lake. It is well shaded and close to bath house and bathrooms.

I was on site 38 and it was excellent. Level, lots of shade in early September. Big concrete handicapped accessible area but picnic table not on concrete. It was off to the side in the grass, which was okay with me but maybe not for someone needing level ground w/ table. It was a big roomy site not close to anyone on either side. Definitely will mark it as a ❤️ one!

Hernando Point Campground, Hernando, MS
This was a good place to spend a few days while exploring the Memphis area. Our site was #23, a long level pull-thru with full hook-ups and a view of what little lake there is. They are working on the dam, so the lake is extremely low and not very pleasing to look at. This is pretty much a self-service campground; the office was closed and there was no one around and no instructions about checking in, getting a map, or to answer questions. A couple of sites appeared to be occupied by either camp host or full timers, but there was never anyone around either of those sites. We never saw a ranger or host the entire time we were there. Our site had no shade, but several of the back-in spaces were very shady. The grass needed to be mowed and there was a water leak at our site, so apparently there was not much maintenance being done.

Great site. Nice flare slips, plenty of tree coverage. Though, I did seem to have the only slip with no sewer hookup. It was there, just glued shut.

We enjoy going to Hernando Point, since it’s close to home. We aren’t “boat or water” campers, so with the water being gone does not effect us. They have drained the lake due to some repairs needed to the Dam, Our safety is important.

Nice campground..surprised we didn't see any rangers..Sheriff drove through a couple of time..Not very friendly host they never even camp to our campsite to introduce them selves and he looked like he was mad all the time when we saw him out...Maybe that's not a requirement of your camp host.

The area is beautiful and the site was perfect for us. Found plenty of activity nearby in and around town. the only disappointing part is that the water was so so low and seemed to keep getting lower---now we find out there was damage to the dam and they will be doing repairs. We will definitely be back!
