There seems to be low visitation due to the reservoir being drawn down for repairs, but it made for a very quiet stay. Site 18 is huge, with expansive views across green space, which used to be covered in water. Hernando Point is not far off I-55 and a short trip to Memphis for sightseeing, restaurants and supplies. This park is on our favorites list for our annual snowbird trips.

We knew ahead of time that the dam was being worked on so there wasn’t a “lake”. That being said, we had beautiful views of the sunrise and sunset. Our site was easy to get into and level.

location. location. location - loved this place but know there's really NO WATER. The Dam is being repaired. We had Eagles on our site, it was clean, staff was polite and the park was well maint'd. Really liked it.

We were very pleased with the park . When we first arrived we had spot 15 and it was a little muddy so the park staff let us move to a dryer spot. It rained every night but during the day is was very nice

FHU at a COE is always a bonus. Quiet with plenty of space. I was in 22 and had the table and burn pit on the same side as the utilities. A bit awkward but not an issue. Good spot south of Memphis if you are wanting to visit. It’s a favorite ❤️

After a Harvest Host fail, we were in last minute need of a campsite, the Friday evening of Memorial Day weekend! I found this campsite online and booked it asap. We were pleasantly surprised. Perfectly flat spots, full hook up and a nice view! It was perfect! We don’t know why we would ever be driving through northern Mississippi again, but if we are, we will definitely stay here again!

From I-55, take the Hernando, Mississippi exit and turn west. Continue to to HWY 51 and turn south. Turn west on Wheeler Road and follow signs into campground.
Hernando Point Campground is accessible from I-55 via the Hernando exit, approximately 2 miles away. From I-55, travelers can reach HWY 51, which is also nearby.

General
- Visitors are expected to be aware of park general rules
- Don't Move Firewood: Protect your forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. Visit Dontmovefirewood.org for further information.
- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reminds all visitors that coast guard approved personal floatation device is required when conducting activities on or in the waters of Arkabutla Lake. These activities include but are not limited to swimming, waterskiing, riding on personal watercraft, kayaking, and other boating related activities. If vessel is under 16 feet in length a PFD is mandatory at all times. If vessel is over 16 feet in length, PFDs are only required while making way under main propulsion.
