Great location near Hernando. Wonderful full hookup sites throughout. Several shower houses, some newer than others but all in good working order. All sites were paved and fairly level. Plentiful space between sites.
Do not come here to enjoy Arkabutla Lake as it is very, very "not here" due to repairs being made to the dam. Come for the wonderful, quiet, well laid out campground experience. Visit Hernando for good food, shopping and entertainment.

We were traveling back home and decided to make a reservation for overnight. The campground was beautiful and with the full hookups, we wished we could’ve stayed a couple more nights. The camp is clean and well maintained. We loved our stay!

I booked this from the website assuming that if sites showed as available that they were also acccessable. When I got to the park after dark I drove in approx irately 100 yards and the road turned into a sheet of ice and snow pack. I was driving a 36’ rv towing a car in fog and I couldn’t drive on the road in front of me. I had to unhook my car and back it up to a wide enough spot to turn around then had to do the same with my rv. I never made it to my campground site. A ranger should have had the website post a warning so people could know the bad conditions at the time of booking.
If the roads weren’t cleared it shouldn’t have been listed as open and available. I wasted my money this trip and caused myself and my wife a lot of stress.

There was roughly 3-4 inches of snow/ice covering the road after the snow storm from a week ago. There was no way we were going to take a chance pulling a 42 foot 5th wheel on a road that we could not see. Having never been there we did not know if there were a lot of hills as we were entering the campground. We ended up backing the camper approximately 100 yards to get turned around and left.

I come to this part twice a year, it’s my favorite part in Mississippi. It’s close to grocery stores and other commercial properties.

Great quiet park. Safe with great hosts. Wonderful views except the lake has been drained for repair to the dam. Still nice for quiet camping.
