What Guests Are Saying
Ruark Bluff East offers a fantastic camping experience with a beautiful location, clean facilities, and friendly staff, making it ideal for families. Campers appreciate the spacious sites, stunning lake views, and the variety of outdoor activities available, such as fishing and swimming. While some improvements are needed, including better grass maintenance and shower upgrades, overall, guests enjoy their time and are likely to return.

This is a difficult review to write. First, we are not from this State. The majority of the campers were. The site itself was level. Utilities as stated.
When we arrived the gate was unmanned. No campground map was posted at entry. Small handwritten sign state β Check in at Westβ. We had no idea what this meant and no idea where our campsite was. Drove passed a βvolunteer campsitesβ area, but no one at any of the 5 trailers. ( All 5 sites looked like the folks were long term)
Finally found our site. Not a single host or volunteer came by in 4 days. Sheriff did drive through one night.
The grounds had not been mowed in a LONG time. Knee high grass at our site. The fire pit was filthy, burned clothing and food containers. Bathhouse was swarming with bees and mosquitoes, fan did not work, and looked as if it had not been cleaned for days.
Upon leaving, we spoke with host after tracking her down. We mentioned there should at least be a campground map at enters gate so folks can find their site. She saidβ thatβs a good ideaβ.
We have stayed in many ACE campgrounds, but donβt understand how with 5 on site volunteers and a host this campground was so lacking in basic maintenance.

Love this campground.
Wish they had water and sewer hook ups but we manage.
The bathrooms need some help! Water not regulated very well and lots of bugs
