A nice quiet campground during the week. Good fishing from shore. The road in is very good.
Bathrooms a bit rundown, lots of stains, trim pulling off the walls, etc.
The tent loop is very pretty but almost impossible for tents. You have to pitch on the driveway—grass is very sloped (it’s hard to level a tent) and the gravel space that should be for a tent is used for the fire pit, light pole and table.

The gal at the kiosk was absolutely wonderful! Handled everything and more before we needed things handled. Great job. Beautiful site. Nice shower rooms. Wish there was water at each site. We saw otters in the lake and the fish were jumping. If only it were closer to anywhere.

Arrival & departure
- Check-in time is 4:00 PM and check-out time is also 4:00 PM.
- For more information, contact the park or project office at the provided numbers.
Cancellation policy
- Ruark Bluff West is for overnight stays only; day use is prohibited. Reservations may be canceled if no valid camping unit is present.
- Reservations cannot be made via phone call to the park.
Utilities
- Drinking water and electric hookups are available from April 16 to September 29.
Site capacity
- Each campsite allows one RV and either two tents or three tents.
Safety & rules
- Park rangers and County Sheriffs Deputies patrol the campground regularly.
Fires & fuel
- To protect forests, do not move firewood; buy it locally and burn it on-site.
