We always have an amazing experience when we stay at Ruark West. Dale and his wife do an excellent job and are so kind.
I heard they plan on closing campground all next year to move to 50amp. While I’m excited about that, I wish they could start in October and any have to close half of it. That is very sad to so many people who love to visit there.

Not a lot of shade on the waterfront sites, but I prefer to be by the water. A pop up or tarp for shade would be recommended if you get a water front site. The amenities are quite dated (showers/bathrooms), but they do work fine, just in serious need of a facelift.

Arrival & departure
- Check-in time is 4:00 PM and check-out time is also 4:00 PM.
- For more information, contact the park or project office at the provided numbers.
Cancellation policy
- Ruark Bluff West is for overnight stays only; day use is prohibited. Reservations may be canceled if no valid camping unit is present.
- Reservations cannot be made via phone call to the park.
Utilities
- Drinking water and electric hookups are available from April 16 to September 29.
Site capacity
- Each campsite allows one RV and either two tents or three tents.
Safety & rules
- Park rangers and County Sheriffs Deputies patrol the campground regularly.
Fires & fuel
- To protect forests, do not move firewood; buy it locally and burn it on-site.
