We have been camping at Ruark Bluff West for years, this trip left us thinking twice about coming back. The campers next to us were heavy drinkers, loud, offensive language and ruined the peace and serenity that we usually experience there.
We could not even allow our grandchildren to swim because of their constant offensive language they were using with every sentences, while they hung out in the water by our boat and their boat. Because of this we left a day early. We wish there was some way to control the limit of alcohol so they don't get so intoxicated that their language gets louder and more offensive. It is to bad that a section can not be set aside for drinkers and partiers. Also the dump station was closed down so we had to go to a different camp ground to dump, this was just a slight inconvenience we can live with because we understand things like this can happen.

We were in site 7 for most of our visit. It was shady and waterfront - very nice and quiet! Stockton is one of our favorite lakes. We like it because it is cleaner than Lake of the Ozarks and Tablerock, and it's more rural and less visited. This is not the place for partiers - go to those other lakes mentioned - Lol! Stockton is laid back and serene. Beautiful.

First impressions were as follows, absolutely no shade, and be careful where you step in the grass or you’ll be stepping in dog shit. Why people don’t pick up after their dogs should be allowed to have them! We went west for vacation and almost all the camp sites had doggy bags and trash cans scattered around the campgrounds. But anyway without shade it’s impossible to keep it cool on hot days. The cove is a great place to park you boats if they would at least cut a path to get to the bank. The weeds were 3’ tall with little to no path other than where people have stomped the weeds down. And don’t forget there is no water hookup’s so don’t forget to fill your tanks. Other than that I think the park is a nice place where I see lots of shaded spots but just not where we stayed. When looking at the site online it looked like there would be some shade. They also have a shower house and I was told it was nice and clean but we didn’t use them. A lot of nice places at this park just make sure you pick one.

Our spot has a gravel beach area and we floated in tubes right there. Loved our spot. Close to drinking water. No shade at this space though.
