What Guests Are Saying
Frank Russell campground is highly praised for its clean, spacious, and well-maintained sites, including level concrete pads with full hookups and ample room for privacy. Visitors appreciate the beautiful surroundings, well-kept trails, and facilities, making it a favorite for camping with horses and enjoying outdoor activities. While some noted issues like noise from neighboring sites and the need for more on-site staff, overall, guests express a strong desire to return and recommend the campground for a relaxing experience.

We love the barn, the stalls and all the interlocking gates! The sites are plenty wide and long with easy access.
We love the fishing pond and walking/workout trail. This park is beautiful, peaceful and well kept. Horse Trails are clearly marked and an easy ride.
We took a day trip into Hannibal one rainy day. Lots of shops and history to see.

We stayed overnight on our way to So. MO. Nice facility, flat cement slabs for trailers, pens for horses.

This was my 3rd time at this camping area. It was very accommodating at each campsite and the barn is very nice with stalls. Because of the construction going on in the main camp ground the hydrant closest to the barn was not working but the campers all pitched in their hoses and we connected to the closest hydrant so everyone was able to water their horses at the barn. The trails are in very good shape. The campground is close to stores and businesses. We will be back again.

Beautiful campsite for Equestrians. Mowed and weeded and very clean. Best campsite we have been to in many years.

Nice, however the old pit toilets are missed. Wish they were back. Don't like to walk up to 1/4 to get to a restroom.

This was an absolutely lovely campground. Peaceful. Very nice "patio" site. Love the fire pit. Husband said the men's shower was wonderful, so I decided to use the women's. I found it not wonderful. Added on hand held needed to be used, but wasn't tall enough to stand under. It was frustrating not being able to use both hands to wash/rinse hair. Otherwise, wonderful campground. Host said full hook-ups will be added next year. Wonderful!!!

Well maintained. Quite. Hard surface parking. Great archery range. Fishing lake with handicap access. Very near Black Jack Marina. Very near a great gun range. Steel picnic table. Fire ring. Lantern pole, hook. Signed: a happy camper.

Very nice campground sites are far enough apart for quiet and some are close enough for like 2 families that are camping together. Glad to see where some are gonna be full hookups now that will make it even better. we have been there 3 different times and have had a great experience all 3 times . my only concern is the pads are really narrow . but everything else is great.

I really liked how many of the spots were nice and secluded and had plenty of trees nearby!
