What Guests Are Saying
Frank Russell campground is highly praised for its clean, spacious, and well-maintained sites, including level concrete pads with full hookups and ample room for privacy. Visitors appreciate the beautiful surroundings, well-kept trails, and facilities, making it a favorite for camping with horses and enjoying outdoor activities. While some noted issues like noise from neighboring sites and the need for more on-site staff, overall, guests express a strong desire to return and recommend the campground for a relaxing experience.

Upgrades to this campground are amazing! #37 is a double parking space. The rooms was fantastic. The firepit location was a nice touch. Shower house was clean. The lake and the trails were in great shape too!

Love the new full hookups and the concrete pads. Now just need the widen and replace the roadways. There are still some trees in the loop circles that need to be cut up higher and back away from hanging over the roads or edges of the road. But THANK YOU for the amazing new sites!
NOW if we could only get WIFI because regular cell service SUCKS! Never had more than 1 bar on LTE

This was a super nice place! All the sites that we were able to see including ours was super clean and flat. Facilities were clean and in working order. Couple of cool features is its archery ranges regular target range and a 3d target range. Also had a very nice fishing pond and several stalls for horses for those who travel with them. Also, just across the dam is a park on the south side that had a shooting range for hand guns and long rifles. So cool to have open ranges (there is a kiosk for paying, and pleas do). Overall rating a 5!!!

It was our first time camping here, and we loved our experience. The new concrete drives and pads were amazing. Super clean and quiet. We loved having the private lake to fish and the target shooting range. We will be back!

Awesome newly renovated campsites. Love having fire rings contained within concrete patio - seems much safer. When backing in to some sites, you need to back in fully in order to level fully. Recommend a map be developed to show great walking trail and archery trail along with campsites for your guests. Nice to have equestrian sites.

We stopped for an overnighter, but were amazed at how well the campsites had been updated. Loved the landscaping, cement pads, fire pits, nice picnic tables, restrooms and showers looked great and camp hosts were very friendly.

This campground was upgraded over the Fall and Winter of 2023 and 2024. Our site was listed as having water and electric, but it actually had full hookups. It's a lovely setting with many trees, lake views and a park for the kids. It's also got horse stables if you are an equestrian.

Great campsite. There’s lots of water spigots and the horse stalls are nice. Great trail riding right from camp. Only thing is there’s no shade for a lot of the sites so tent camping in the summer is hot. Plan accordingly.
