What Guests Are Saying

Sutton Bluff Recreation Area is praised for its great campground, especially for ATV enthusiasts, with direct access to trails and a beautiful natural setting. Many visitors appreciate the cleanliness of the bathrooms and the respectful behavior of fellow campers, despite some issues with facilities and the absence of a camp host. While there are concerns about maintenance and missing amenities like a wastewater dump, overall, the area remains a favored spot for camping and outdoor activities.

The camp ground itself is nice, clean and quite. Each camp site has nice fire rings with a swinging grill and picnic tables. The bathrooms and showers are gross! Not very well kept at all but do work. Most of the trails are very rough and overgrown so be prepared!

large campsites. Mostly vacant during the week. Easy access to the pristine Black River.

When we arrived we found the site we were booked for was not going to work because it was not very level for our 44 ft camper. We also found no camp host around to aid us in determining where else we could stay. After looking further we also found there was no dump station and that the campgrounds was so secluded we did not even have cell phone service. I did email advising that we decided not to stay because of this problem but no one responded. It was the worst $70 I ever spent.

Campground host was very friendly, welcomed my large group, and checked to be sure we were happy. Our sites were clean and well maintained. Thank you!

This is located in the woods. Be careful Google GPS will try to take you down a gravel road. Don't fall for it if you don't have a 4x4 you cannot make the last 400 feet pulling a trailer of any kind. RV Riggs cannot make the Gravel Road hill either.
Don't Get off the Paved Roadway from Lesterville or John Shut-Ins there is a sign after the Wood mill. From Centerville don't let GPS take you down a dirt road on the left just before the White Church. There is a sign on the left side of the road before the wood mill on the right. Excellent campsite. You are 18 miles from Lesterville where there is a gas station.
