What Guests Are Saying
Cliff Point Campground offers a beautiful and peaceful lakeside setting, ideal for nature lovers. The campground features clean facilities, friendly hosts, and well-maintained sites, with some having direct water access. However, the experience can be marred by disruptive day users and a lack of enforcement of camping rules.

Nice campground on a beautiful lake. The road in was a bit washboarded but manageable. Site was big enough for our 12’ trailer and car with some creative parking. The campground was virtually empty despite every spot being booked. Vault toilet was essentially unusable due to approximately 1 million flies living in it.

Spending a night at Cliff Campground was truly unforgettable. The road to get there is unpaved and about 1.5 miles from the main road, but once you arrive, you’re rewarded with a magical setting on the shores of Cliff Lake. The lake itself feels timeless, a place where nature completely surrounds you—I even had the joy of watching marmots swimming in the water. The campground is very simple, with no services other than a basic bathroom, but each site has its own picnic table and fire ring. If you’re looking for a peaceful, off-the-beaten-path spot to connect with nature, this place is absolutely worth the detour.

Lovely, quiet spot to camp in the Beaverhead. Bathroom very clean and often attended to.
Do wish that the campground host had made a visit and introduce themselves. Never did.

Phenomenal staff dedicated to managing the gorgeous lands of the Madison RD. Papoose trail 355 up to the cradle lakes is phenomenal, and always in good shape.

The campground is located in a perfect location to enjoy the crystal blue waters of Cliff Lake.
The MAJOR downside of this campground is the day use area. The lake near the campground can get loud when day users are present. Despite the many signs posted that there is no day use allowed along the shore of the campground, day users were constantly coming and using the space, even a full family party!! There were also lots of cars that would drive down to the campground, and since it’s so small, it felt disruptive.
If you are staying at sites 1-4 the water access is great. Sites 5 and 6 have direct water access, but the area is more swampy along the shore. There is a set of stairs next to site 1 with great, clean water access that is open to anyone with campground reservations. The problem was day use users would come set up camp, leaving sites 5 and 6 to content with day users for access.
The benefit of site 6 is that it is a very generous size. Lots of room to hang a hammock and enjoy some space.
The only thing that would have made this a better stay is if someone were there to reinforce the no day use along the camp shore rules and to keep non-campers from driving into the small campground.

I love this campground. I don’t think there is a bad site.
