What Guests Are Saying
Wade Lake is a beautiful and well-maintained campground with stunning scenery, clear water, and a family-friendly atmosphere. While the sites can be crowded and small, many visitors appreciate the cleanliness of the facilities and the recreational opportunities available, such as paddleboarding. Some campers noted issues with noise from construction and nearby sites, yet overall, it remains a popular destination for nature lovers seeking a pleasant getaway.

Campground/lake is incredibly popular and is a bit crowded. We stayed in spot #4 and had people cutting through our campsite most of the day to access the lake.

Lake is beautiful with lots of accessories, but sites are small and very close to each other. We have an 8 person tent (fairly large) which barely fit. We had very young families in campers all around us. Kids were riding their bikes and stealing wood from unattended campsites. At one point a child got hurt and a parent yelled at them for getting hurt far away, like it was an inconvenience. It’s a great place, just not my ideal camping experience.

Day use area along lake was very crowded. Distracted the solitude of being in the forest. But understand that it is a recreational area for various reasons for people to enjoy. If one wants more solitude this is not the place to go. Wish I knew Hilltop campground was there. It was beautiful and had the solitude I was seeking.
Never did see a campground host come around.

It was a great site with views of the lake. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that it was a bit small. No space for our large tent. But you could fit about 3 2-man tents. Love Wade Lake!
Oh, and there was no garbage disposal, everyone had to pack out their own garbage.

We love going to this campground and staying in one of the lakeside sites...they are EXTREMELY difficult to get. Our only concern this past trip is the upkeep of some of the sites, primarily the lakeside ones. Ours was fine but others were completely overgrown with weeds.... I mean like 3 ft tall or more. That is ridiculous, especially for such a popular campground. Had it been our site I would've gone to see the host. They do have new pit toilets that were very clean though.
