What Guests Are Saying

Hunters Spring Cabin is praised for its comfortable accommodations, newer bedding, and great location near scenic trails, making it ideal for outdoor enthusiasts. Guests appreciate the warm wood stove and spacious layout, even though some lighting and road access could use improvement. While there are minor issues like propane lights and occasional mouse evidence, overall, the cabin provides a pleasant and inviting experience.

Wonderful location and space! We had an amazing weekend. The only hiccup is that someone without a reservation was already in the cabin and insisted they also had a reservation when we got there. This was not true. After traveling a half hour back down the mountain to get cell service to call recreation.gov, the “squatters” eventually came down (we saw them drive by) and we went back and enjoyed our weekend.

nice location, but, not as clean as most other forest service cabins in which we have stayed, everything in kitchen pretty greasy. We tried to clean it up as best we could

The kitchen and stove were very dirty from the previous guests. There was cut firewood but no maul to split the wood. The couches could be replaced with something you don’t sink to the floor in when you sit down.

Large place, more room than we needed, well appointed with the fridge/freezer and gas stove. We plan to stay here again! Lots of room for kids to play.

We love this cabin and have been coming here every fall with our family since 2014! We were so disappointed when the price went up from $20-65. It was such an affordable family vacation for us and now it makes it hard to do.

Great spot for a larger group! The kitchen was well equipped, and the three separate bedrooms had plenty of room for multiple guests. The cabin was a warm and cozy place for a January retreat.

Icy roads going in, wish there was a better route as the hill and corner where gate is can get terrible, love the cabin and fact there is a running spring near by for water. Excellent place to stay no matter the season, love taking snowmobiles in to camp from 1st of December till end of April, fishing in near by creek is fun. Tons of atv and sxs trails for summer fun. 3 full bedrooms, cute propane lights and plenty of places to explore

Peaceful, 3 bedrooms -so room for everyone, Cows do make there way by the cabin and like to make conversions with other in the herd in the next field. So you may hear some noises from time to time. Stove and refrigerator in the kitchen, propane lighting (instructions by the journal) Also someone left extra sheets and pillows in one closet, dressers are in the bedrooms also

The couch and love seat have seen better days( you sink to the floor), there is a table and chairs also. The mattresses were nice, have had worse hotel ones.
