What Guests Are Saying
Chinamen's Campground features beautiful scenery and great lake access, making it a pleasant getaway for families. Many reviewers appreciated the friendly and helpful camp host, though some expressed concerns about her availability and enforcement of rules. While the campground has a clean environment and reasonable pricing, issues like trash, noisy neighbors, and small campsite sizes were noted, suggesting a need for improvements in management and facilities.

Great location. Awesome waterfront campground. Bathrooms were clean our entire stay! Spot 12 says it has shade but it's very little, with canopy I'm sure it would be just fine for those needing a retreat from the sun.

We scheduled our visit online. When we arrived, the campsite was marked as reserved under another's name. We checked with the host and he said that group had cancelled. That evenining, another family showed up and said they had the campsite reserved. So there were three families with reservations for the same campsite. This was a cluster and needs to be addressed. Thank you.

Campsites are really close together. Extra large group next to us kept coming and going. Their conversations made our children uncomfortable but there was no place to not hear them. Campground was pretty messy.

I was mainly disappointed because of all the trash on the campsite I rented which was Lot 5 I'm not sure if it was from fireworks or some kind of confetti but it was all over the place I did not have the time or resources to clean it up before I set up camp or when I leave I'm a single mom with two kids and I come out there once a year sometimes twice and it was just disappointing to see how trashed it was I've been coming out here for the past three years and never had this problem before I remember that nice woman who used to be the camp resource person but she wasn't there this time unfortunately

No privacy, lots of people driving through. Amazing lake, great view.

The Campground was good. Easy to find & get to. The spot we were in (site 1) is very small, so don't plan on getting a big camper in there. our pickup and a 10'x14' tent fit alright, but that was crowding the firepit a little too tight. Other sites are larger and could accommodate a larger tent or setup.
The "beach" in walking distance is really neat and has all sorts of rocks. Some were super flat & coin like, others were all sorts of colors. Really neat place. The water isn't super clear, but still fun to play in with kids.

For no hookups, this is a great campground. Thank you for the clean toilet facilities.

Camp ground was great. But every year we go all the sites are booked and so we are left with small no shade sites and our multi family groups are spread out. Yet when we get there, the sites reserved stay empty the whole weekend. This is frustrating since this happens every summer!
Would rather it be first come first serve sites!

Well kept campground. Daily cleaning crews in latrine facilities! No complaints.

One of the last campgrounds that does not have paved road and cement sites to park on.
It gives you an older feel for camping with lots of trees, privacy and hills for the kids to play on.
I would not mind if they did a little improving, I would love to spend a day with a backhoe making sites a bit more friendly as some could use some widening.
It is mostly a tent camping area which is how we started out in and and moved up into a camper. Small campers under 25' at the most are advised only for a few spots and a few more for a slide in the box camper if that is your thing.
However for us, it is the campground where our kids have overall the most fun playing in the trees, climbing the mounts and watching the squirrels, Chipmunks.
