We've never been able to get on the lake, and it was great. it is more windy though, and can be chilly still in june.

Clean, quiet. Liked that most of the sites had direct access to the lake. Sites were a bit close to each other, and lots of people had dogs running around off-leash while we were there. Would have been nice if that rule was enforced better.

We really enjoy Hellgate campground, and area. Our group not only brought a boat but a SXS, so enjoyed fishing and offroading up the canyon. Very pretty. Bathrooms were clean, and supplied with TP. Campground was clean. Hosts were very nice, and made the stay even more enjoyable.
One complaint. We picked this week to pick chokecherries. This year there were none. Maybe you can get more rain next year. :)

There is a wasp or hornets in the ground by the women's side of the bathroom that has running water & the toilets flush. It's in between two of the big boulders that keep vehicles from running into the bathrooms. It's on the side where there is a few parking spots on the side closest to the main road into the entire campground. Be very careful over there.

It was excellent, no bugs, the host made the rounds to make sure the restrooms were clean and very sociable. Not many campers so we were spread out well.

Booked the site for 2 nights. Night #1 one of the campsites that was quite a ways away from me but near where the camp hosts were played very loud music all night. They didn't stop until near dawn.
Night #2 the same camp site continued playing music until early morning interspersed with firing up their motorcycle and revving it.
I wasn't able to track down the camp hosts to find out what the problem, was. Overall not a great time for sleeping.
