I was disappointed that the online reservation system would not give me my senior discount which I never did get. Because I reserved a double campsite but only used half of it, I was charged double for the campsite. So basically I paid 4 times the amount I would have paid if I had paid at the site and not used the reservation site. The campsite was fine as were the bathrooms, table and firepit.

Campsites were clean and well marked, a little tight backing into some of them without getting up on the grass across the road. We like this campground because of the easy access to the mountain trails.

At the end of May it was very poor. We were there 10 days and never met the camphost or saw him in camp area. You need to have people to enforce the rules, at this time dogs were running loose and generators and noise past 10:00 p.m. We were there again the 1st part of September and only had 1 couple (Debbie and Craig) who did a wonderful job for the whole campground. You need to have camphosts in all 3 areas it is too much for a couple.

we have been camping at Hellgate since the late 1970"s. Have mostly had very good experience. The camp hosts are always friendly and helpful. A new host last year, the previous one had candy to hand out to granddaughter and she loved that. Sometime they don't enforce the dogs on lease regulation. we have had dogs wondering around our campsite and it is annoying to have to pick up after them.

Our suggestion for improvement of the campground is to have electricity available at each site.
