Weeds were really bad and grass was dead. Grass was so dry we were afraid to build a fire. Poorly maintained.

Our family camped at White Sandy for our annual family campout. The camp hosts were wonderful, and the restrooms were very clean and lit up at night. I do not think we will camp here again for reasons listed below.
1. We arrived to find out that we were not able to put 2 campers in a 60 ft spot. When making the reservations I was told we were allowed to put 2 campers in one spot as long as it didn't exceed 60 ft. we parked our pickup next to the camper and put a tent up in the bed. When the BLM officer came, he informed us we were not allowed to do this and would therefore have to pay extra. He handed out a list of rules for us. We informed him that this was ok'd prior to our arrival, and I was even placed on hold when making reservations so they could verify this was ok. We told him we were not going to pay extra if Recreation.gov and BLM couldn't get their rules consistent, He stated we would have to take the tent down on the back of the pickup as it was considered an extra unit. We were told to take our tent down off the pickup as it was considered an extra unit. The definition of tent on recreation.gov is Tent
A portable shelter generally made of cloth, supported by one or more poles, and stretched tight by cords or loops attached to pegs driven into the ground. So not sure how they figured this was a unit.
It would be nice to have all camp spots have electrical hookups!!!
2. The drinking water is ABSOLUTLY gross and smells. It says it is drinkable but when filling jugs after a short period of time it turns orange. We ended up getting our water somewhere else.
3. Very few trees for shade and the lake water was gross at the beach area.
