What Guests Are Saying

Devil Creek Campground offers a clean, well-maintained experience with friendly hosts, Gaven and Barb, who are noted for their hospitality and helpfulness. Campsites provide beautiful views and ample privacy, while the pit toilets are exceptionally clean. The campground's convenient location between Glacier's East and West entrances enhances access to nearby hiking trails, although some guests noted occasional noise from passing trains.

This is a gem of a campground. It is close to East Glacier and all of the trailheads along the south boundary of GNP, which makes it the perfect location to stay overnight and stage before going into the back-country (either Glacier or the wilderness area to the south). The amenities (running water, clean latrines, bear boxes) are good -- the only thing you gain by going into the park is a flush toilet... but those park campgrounds are filled full by early morning so you're probably not getting that flush toilet, anyway. At Devil Creek we tented and had no troubles finding suitable places to set-up. The sites have varying amounts of privacy: some more than others, but we never had a site that was right on top of it's neighbor. Best of all, half of the sites can be reserved in advance and those reserved sites don't fill 9 months in advance! (Try that inside GNP.) All this for half the price of a GNP site, and 1/3 the price of any of those much-less-nice campgrounds along the eastern side of the park. The only drawback of Devil Creek CG is that the busy railroad tracks run down the valley on the north side of the highway, so there is a frequent rumble of trains. You get used to it.

Devils Creek was perfectly located south of Glacier Park on highway 2. Its location as a base camp for 2 days with my motorcycle and tent allowed me to explore that area of the park yet have cheap accommodations for the night. The hosts were very friendly and kind, and attentive to who was coming and going. The bathrooms were very clean and each site had a bear box for "valuables". The camp is small with only 13 sites and no one messed with my stuff while I was gone all day. Beautiful area with hiking trails, but I did not make it to the creek.
