The only bummer in this gorgeous spot is the eyesore political flag complaining about Trump losing the 2020 election flying from one of the boats that just sits on the shore. I'm pretty sure it belongs to the camp host. Sadly, I couldn't take in the breathtaking view without the flag always being in it.

This campground is beautiful! You can't GPS to the exact location, so finding it the first time can be a little hard. It's quite a ways off Hwy 2 to get to the dam, and a long 3 miles on a narrow windy road to get to the campground itself. Campsite #10 was where we stayed, and it was beautifully isolated from the rest of the sites. Lots of big trees provide shade. Short walk down to the water which was crystal clear and fun to float around in inner tubes in. Nice and quiet! Definitely no service here, so the perfect place to unplug.

Turn off U.S. Highway 2 at milepost 144 and follow the West Side Hungry Horse Reservoir (Forest Road #895) across the Hungry Horse Dam. The campground is 3 miles south of the Dam. The road is paved to the campground.
