What Guests Are Saying
Emery Bay Campground offers stunning access to Hungry Horse Reservoir and is a serene alternative to the crowded campgrounds in Glacier National Park, just 20 minutes away. The campground is well-maintained with spacious, beautiful sites and friendly hosts who provide excellent service. While the access road is rough and some sites experience day-use traffic, campers appreciate the peaceful atmosphere, cleanliness, and the opportunity for activities like paddle boarding and swimming in the lake.

The camp host was helpful, views were excellent, campsites on top...a bit too close...lakeside was wonderful.
One thing, the extra vehicle charge I paid ($6/nightx4=$24) was an overcharge per the host at our next campground in MT. We had two roof top tents. I understand we should have been allowed one camper and one vehicle under National Park rules. It would be great if this could be credited to our account...which we will be sure use on our next adventure.

Our site #2 was very nice and secluded from other sites and had a view of the beautiful lake through the many trees. As far as campgrounds go, being right on the road was not the best for our pop top camper, since quite a few cars drive by WAY too fast and pretty close including two rude people who drove by at 1AM and 3:30AM with their headlights blaring and waking us up (I hope that is just an isolated case). The camp hosts never came to welcome us or tell us anything. We flagged the woman host down on day 2 to ask her some things - we never saw her husband Kevin. On day 1 the Day Users were at the marina which is close by the site with their very loud jet skis which were annoying. Day 2 was much quieter and we enjoyed that day of our stay very much. Our picnic table had a huge pizza size blob of some oily substance that was gross, so we never used the table. It should have been scrubbed off by the hosts in my opinion. All in all we will be back again to try this campground in the future since the lake is beautiful and location was great.

Excellent hosts - Kevin was so friendly and accommodating when we had a minor mishap in our reservation. Facility itself is minimal - no flush toilets and sinks, but well-maintained pit toilet and water taps are available. No cell and data service (was using an esim and tried Verizon and AT&T). Mind the long gravel road to access the campground from the main road. About 30 minutes drive away from the Western entry point of Glacier National Park, which was manageable distance from the park especially for early-risers.
A small plate with your name and reservation dates is placed by the campsite you have booked via Recreation to indicate your spot upon arrival.

We had a fantastic experience at Emery Bay campsite #4. We brought our paddle boards and our spot was as close as we could get to the boat launch. The tables are a solid fiberglass material, easy to clean and no cracks or splinters like the old wood picnic tables. Michelle (camp host) takes fantastic care of her grounds, I even noticed that she folded the toilet paper ends into a triangle in the bathrooms in the morning like a fancy hotel. Truly could not have asked for a better experience.

Campground was excellent, only negative was the extremely rough road getting to it, but site and lake made it worth it

Beautiful spot, close to glacier, but someone stole our lantern and solar shower. Not cool.

Fantastic host at Emery Bay. Frank was friendly, helpful and kept the camp clean and organized. Small campground, and lucky enough to have a site with direct access to beautiful reservoir/ lake.

The host family was super nice, good facilities, and great location. The campsites were pretty spread apart, so while we were camping in a busy spot, it felt like we were alone.

Large campsites especially for a tent which we were using. Right on the water so could easily launch a kayak from the site. Hosts were helpful. The only downside I guess would be the dirt road coming in would probably be terrible for a car, and our site was right next to day use site so people were walking by the tent to get to the water, not a huge deal, but I could see some people getting upset about that.

We had a beautiful spot on the lake (#7). The lake was super nice with very few boaters and a beautiful emerald color! We kayaked the lake for two and a half hours and didn't come close to getting around any of it.... It is really huge. The host was exceptionally nice and helpful. Besides the washboard road for 4 miles to access the campground, everything else was perfect!
