What Guests Are Saying
The Stony Creek cabin is a charming and well-maintained retreat, perfectly situated for fishing on the Upper Rock Creek. Guests appreciate the clean and tidy accommodations, as well as the helpful camp host nearby. While access from I-90 may be challenging in poor weather, the overall experience is highly recommended, with many guests looking forward to returning.

My little family of four absolutely adored this place and we will definitely be returning. The creek is close by. Probably the cleanest vault toilets I’ve seen. Plus the camp host across the street was friendly and helpful.

Stoney Cabin was exactly as portrayed in the Recreation.gov website. There were no surprises here. As such, the cabin and was great. Clean, and kept us out of the rain and cold weather. It was nice to have firewood provided for the cabin stove. We drove up Stoney Creek exploring and looking for sites to fly fish due to the high water run off in Rock Creek. While in route we collected fire wood for the camp fire.
Using the campground facilities: outhouse as well as the fresh water well pump worked out well. Also, the camp ground host was super friendly and informative about the local area. A great guy!

Love this cabin, does the trick for our trip. Nothing fancy, small. It was cold this time so we cooked outside then all dined around the table inside in the warmth. Other than occasionally bumping my head (I’m 6’ 2”) it’s perfect.

Always a great stay at this little cabin. The accommodations are clean, rustic, and yet have some comforts of home provided (i.e., dishware, paper towels, small board games) for people who don't want to bring in all of their own personal gear. There is no stove, lantern, or gas canisters provided, so make sure to pack these in. The wood stove is one of the best I have ever used in a cabin -- will keep you warm at any outside temperature, and has multiple adjustments you can make for burn time and heat. Easy access cabin with some great opportunities to view bighorn sheep, elk, and other wildlife on the hillsides near the cabin. Also in close proximity to hiking trails that provide access into rugged hillsides of the drainage and that can be used throughout the year. Great solitude.
