What Guests Are Saying
Cascade campground offers a spacious, quiet, and clean environment, with helpful camp hosts and plenty of trees providing privacy between sites. While the gravel road can be rough, the overall experience is enhanced by beautiful natural surroundings and close proximity to hiking opportunities. Some minor issues with site descriptions and water access were noted, but visitors express a strong desire to return.

Nice campground and well maintained. The view in the back is a bit spoiled by all the trees on the mountain being dead, but that will eventually get better. My only complaint is that the road down to the campground is very rough and needs to be graded. Also watch out for moose.

The Cascade campground was beautiful with new growth pines.
There was ample space between campsites. The campground host
was very friendly and was present to check on campers.
However, a 3 mile section of dirt road to this campground was horrendous.
It shook our RV so badly that headlight connections were affected.
A grader went over the road during our stay which improved the road
but it had gone back to the awful washboard condition when we left.
Paving the road like the first 8 miles to the campground would be a
great improvement.

Camp here every year. Camp host are always amazing and hard working. Clean, well maintained. We drive a lot of dirt roads to campgrounds. For those commenting on how bad the road is...lol ......as far as dirt roads go this one is GOOD! My only complaint after being there during the start of the robertson draw fire is that camp host should be in possession of a emergency communication.

Campsite had stream running through the fireplace. The picnic table was accessible only if you don't mind climbing down a river bank and standing in 6 inches of black mud .
This campsite is unusable and the rangers know it. They got their $ six months in advance and their hands are washed of it.
I paid extra to insure that we would have campsites after a 1400 mile drive with a wife that is on her last few moments here.
The rangers let us down and I'll never forget how badly they do their job.

After 1500 miles of driving it was the worst campsite I have had in 65 years of camping. Any spot along side the road was better.
We reserved the camp site in January and ended up with a site that the USFS should restore to river bank. I'll NEVER make reservations with them again.
Tax $ wasted for a website that doesn't even mention that your campsite may be UNUSABLE.
Tax $ wasted on maintaning a losing battle campsite and no ability to adapt or change. Good enough is good enough I
guess. This is today's USFS apparently.
It was our "bucket list" trip and with my wife's declining health will be the only trip we will have ever taken together. It's a shame.
The ranger whom deemed this a usable "campsite" should lose their job today.
The campground host has no say in the matter and worked like a dog along with the host from Basin to try and make it right. They tried digging trenches to get the picnic table dry and save the fire ring from a stream of water running through it. The site is a lost cause.
Two old men working like dogs while a ranger sat on his ass somewhere I'll bet. On the job retirement is the modern way for government employees. Let someone else pay.
The hosts were the nicest people that I've met in a long time and they quite literally saved what little vacation that we had out west. If you happen to meet them, thank them for us again.
If you see a ranger...look hard to see them do anything but sit.

The campground was great, we will definitely stay again! The area is great for a nice walk and being right on the creek adds the the great experience.

I will avoid this campground due to the most horrible washboard road.
