About Lake Alva Campground

Lake Alva Campground is located on the North shore of Lake Alva, approximately 11 miles north of Seeley Lake, and offers visitors the chance to camp and enjoy activities such as swimming, boating, fishing, picnicking, and wildlife viewing.  The lake is home to a loon population and has protected nesting areas. The birds' mesmerizing calls can often be heard in the campground. All boats on Lake Alva must operate at a "no-wake" speed year-round.

What Guests Are Saying

Lake Alva Campground is a clean, well-maintained site that offers a peaceful, forested experience, free from power boats on the lake. Campers appreciate the friendly hosts, spacious and private campsites, and the opportunity for kayaking. Some concerns include limited lake access and occasional generator noise, but overall, visitors express a strong desire to return.

The scenery was so lush and green (even in August!) here, and the trees so tall. Feels like staying in an enchanted forest. Great, quiet lake—lovely place to stay for a night or two.

The campground hosts were fantastic. Tim, Ed, and Sandra, kept each campsite clean and free of trash of bear attractants. Their diligence set a standard for campers to follow. Plus, they were super nice.

clean outhouses, great camp hosts!
The choice of on loop as reserved and one as first come first served is a great idea!
Our only issue was loud generators,

Very nice campground, but not a lot of lake access or view without a boat, kayak or paddle board. Great Lake, however, if you do have a watercraft!

Most campsites are level and wide spaced. Like many non-electric, RV campgrounds, be prepared for some generator noises. Although folks with generators are usually courteous in their use, there still is the “din” of background noise that, to me, as a self contained small pop-up and tent user, disturbs the quiet of the forest experience.

It was our first stay at this campground and we enjoyed our stay very much. The area was beautiful and kept up nicely. My only wish was that there was more access to the lake, the tiny beach doesn’t allow for many people to take in the water but it is close to Holland Lake and we were able to get in a hike and let our dogs play in the water

  • Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
  • Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
  • Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
    • Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
    • Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
    • One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
  • Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
  • Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
  • Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
