Loved the campground. Very remote, quite, peaceful. Even a camp host. I did have problems finding it, I was going north on 93 to Sula. GPS had me get off on Lost Trail Hotsprings Road then it didn't give me any more info. I DO NOT recommend that. There is another road just north of there - Camp 729 Road. Get off there then the campground is easier to find because of signage. We also tried to locate the Lewis and Clark Descent Trail but we were unsuccessful. If we had 4 wheel drive we might have been able to explore more to find it but I wasn't comfortable on the narrow dirt road with my van and was not sure if I would have been able to turn around easily.

Nice and quiet. Only thing I wish was different is the placement of the fire r
ings. They are placed under low hanging branches of the trees.

The site we stayed in was inadequately described on the website. It said it could house up to a 30ft trailer. Our trailer is 20ft and when we arrived, the site parking spot was very short. I advise updating this information to reflect accurate measurements.

The settings were ok but very much over grown and unkept. The fire rings were also full making it difficult to start a fire .

This was our favorite campground of our vacation. The vault toilets were clean and water easily accessible. Chief Joseph Pass sits on the Idaho-Montana border. There is summer hiking on heavily forested trails. The Colorado trail is accessible but not easy to find. There is a dirt road from the campground to other hiking trails. Beautiful area!
