Lake McDonald is spectacular and Apgar campground is situated at the perfect spot for stunning views of the mountains converging on the eastern side of the lake. The camp site was nestled among the trees and, though full, did not feel crowded. The ground was nicely level and free of loose rocks so it was not difficult to find a good spot to comfortably place our tent. We spotted a young grizzly bear at 5 a.m. scrounging for food at a campsite across the way so caution is definitely advised when storing food stuffs.

Campground is well maintained and the campsite was great!! There is no dishwashing/waste sink in loops A and B - so we used the ones in loops C and D. Just a small note that made things a bit harder. But loop A does have showers!!!!!
